Sugarland Leaders

Randy Tan , Co-President at Sugarland Branch
Randy is a rising senior at Clements High School. He has been studying piano with John Weems and violin with Henry Rubin for 8 years. Randy has won various competitions for piano such as the 2019 Clear Lake Concerto Competition Senior Division, the 2019 South Texas Piano Competition Concerto Division and 2nd place in the South Texas Piano Competition Solo Division. Randy has also been in the String and Philharmonic orchestras in the TMEA All State Orchestra in 2017 and 2019. As a leader, Randy hopes to help expand Music of Harmony and continue to organize future concerts

Jason Ren, Co-President at Sugarland Branch
Jason Ren is 16 years old and will be an incoming junior at Clements High School. He has been studying piano under Mrs. Yanzi Lin since age 7. Jason has won “First Place with Special Honors” in the Sonatina and Sonata International Youth Piano Competition twice. He also won 1st place at the 2018 HMTA Young Artist concerto competition and performed with the Fort Bend symphony orchestra for the winner’s concert. Additionally, Jason loves doing math, swimming, coding on computers, and volunteering to entertain the elderly at various senior residences.

Xiangchen Liu
Xiangchen had studied piano with his mother, Xiaoping Wu, when he was three years old. He was the champion of the American open music competition and Hong Kong International Piano Competition. He had performed Beethoven First Piano Concerto in C Major, Op15 at Baoli grand theater in December 2011 and Hungarian rhapsody No.15 by Franz Liszt on July 28th 2019. His exquisite performance amazed more than two thousand audiences. Besides playing piano, Xiangchen has superb violin skills as well. In a grand charity concert that hosted in Dalian on July 28th, 2019, he had made an unforgettable expression to audition by performing First Violin Concerto in g minor, Op64 by Mendelsson
