Kevin Mo - Former Marketing Director
Kevin graduated from Taylor Highschool and was a member of the Taylor Percussion Program. He has two years of experience on marimba and was a tenor player for the drumline. Kevin’s interest in music started with piano lessons at the age of 10 and was accelerated as he entered band in Junior High as a percussionist. Since then, music has been a huge part of Kevin’s life and define many of his accomplishments. He was a part of a state-level band wind symphony at school and did well at region and solo and ensemble competitions. Despite a heavy focus on music, Kevin also stressed the academic part of his life and has many other hobbies such as tennis, volunteering, and reading

Daniel Chang
Daniel graduated from the Glenda Dawson High School. He started piano study at six with Alicia Shirley. Daniel has participated in many competitions and recitals. He was third and second place in the TMTA Performance Contest 2018 and 2019 respectively, first place in the 2020 Baylor-Waco Competition, third place in the 2019 Steinway Piano Competition, second place in the 2018 Solo Division and winner of Best Beethoven in the 2020 of South Texas Piano Competition. He was a performer in 2017-2018 Houston Young Artist Concert. Other than piano, Daniel enjoys reading, writing, aqua scaping, skiing, swimming, and stock trading. He swam in Dawson varsity swim team

Timothy Cai was Co-President at Katy Branch. His passion is in wind instruments; specifically, saxophones of all shapes and sizes, but he did mainly play Alto. He has been learning saxophone since he was 10 years old, and music much longer before that, which gives him a decent history with the art. His passion and drive comes from his own desire to have a good time and to share that good time with everyone around him.

Derek Sun , Former Co-President at Katy Branch
Derek was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, grew up in the Washington DC area and Houston. He graduated from Seven Lakes High School in Katy. Music has always been a big part of his life. He started piano since he was 6 years old and saxophone since he was 9. He routinely attend musical recitals and solo competitions in University of Maryland, University of Houston and Rice University, and won third place in Forum Piano Jazz Festival in 2015 and 2017. Regarding saxophone, He has won first division at State Solo and Ensemble as well as Katy Young Artists Competition, and has competed in the All-Region audition numerous times. His brother Frank and him make an excellent duo and put on excellent shows including piano-piano and piano-sax duets.

Abhinav Basvoju
Abhinav Basvoju has been playing clarinet for over six years. His love and passion for the instrument has manifested in his outreach to senior homes. Since he started his musical journey, he has been enamored by performing for large audiences. He joined Music of Harmony in eighth grade and became a team leader in July of 2019. He appreciated that MOH has provided him with lifelong friends and has enriched his high school experience by providing him with a great way to spend his time helping others.

Jed Chen, Former Treasurer & Vice President at Katy Branch
Jed was Treasurer, Vice President at Katy Branch, and he graduated from Seven Lakes High School. He was drum major of the Seven Lakes Marching Band and was in the Wind Symphony at Seven Lakes. He performed with the Seven Lakes Symphony Orchestra which placed first in the TMEA Honor Orchestra Competition. Justin Li - Former President at Memorial Branch
Justin graduated from the Kinkaid School. At school, he played an active role in the orchestra, and was a member of the Fine Arts Leadership Board. He started his musical training at the age of 5, and enjoys being able to spread music to others within the community. Justin has performed as a soloist at the prestigious Midwest Clinic in late 2015 with the Beckendorff Honor Orchestra. Additionally, he has performed in the TMEA All-State Philharmonic Orchestra and sat principal cello in the TPSMEA All-State Orchestra. Some of his hobbies include eating, sleeping, and fantasy sports.

Jason Ren graduated from Clements High School. He has been studying piano under Mrs. Yanzi Lin since age 7. Jason has won “First Place with Special Honors” in the Sonatina and Sonata International Youth Piano Competition twice. He also won 1st place at the 2018 HMTA Young Artist concerto competition and performed with the Fort Bend symphony orchestra for the winner’s concert. Additionally, Jason loves doing math, swimming, coding on computers, and volunteering to entertain the elderly at various senior residences.

Randy graduated from the Clements High School. He has been studying piano with John Weems and violin with Henry Rubin for 8 years. Randy has won various competitions for piano such as the 2019 Clear Lake Concerto Competition Senior Division, the 2019 South Texas Piano Competition Concerto Division and 2nd place in the South Texas Piano Competition Solo Division. Randy has also been in the String and Philharmonic orchestras in the TMEA All State Orchestra in 2017 and 2019. As a leader, Randy helped expand Music of Harmony and continued to organize future concerts

Frank Sun
Frank is a rising sophomore at Seven Lakes High School As a young boy he has always loved music. He plays saxophone for his second year of honor band at his school and plays piano in his free time. He also enjoys doing duets with his brother Derek who he is very close to. The thing he likes about music so much is the ability for him to be creative and open with his mind. It has always put him in a better mood and spread happiness to others. He inspires to be better at both instruments, as well influencing people around him.

April Feng, Former President at Katy Branch
April is a senior at Seven Lakes High School and has been in the top orchestra there for all three years. In fact, she performed at the prestigious Midwest Clinic in late 2015 with the Beckendorff Honor Orchestra. She started playing the violin from a young age, and thoroughly enjoys being able to bring the joy of music to others. Furthermore, she has founded multiple ensembles that perform routinely around the community. At school, she is an academically outstanding student, and she holds many major leadership positions, such as yearbook editor in chief, National Junior Honor Society President, and concertmaster of the Honor Orchestra (for two consecutive years). Some of her hobbies include creating artwork, practicing kung fu, volunteering around the community, and reading novels. April believes that through the power of music, we can change the world for the better.

Not only does Rachel take great pleasure in music but she also loves film, photography, poetry, and especially dance. Rachel has shown her love for dance by winning numerous awards at regional and national competitions, as well as performing at a variety of events. Furthermore, through Music of Harmony, she hopes to spread her passion of art with others in her community.

She performed as part of the TMEA Honor Orchestra Champions and has received 1’s at the Regional Solo and Ensemble Contest every year. Aside from music, Claire is the Honors Chemistry committee head for TAMS Academic Society and the events coordinator for TAMS Culinary Society. Her hobbies include reading, drawing/painting, baking, and volunteering in the community. Claire enjoys volunteering with Music of Harmony where she can make new friends, give back to the community through music, and bring happiness to others.

Apart from Piano, Peter has won two time State Champion for his grade level in chess, and fourth place in Nationals. During the summer, he participates in Autonomous Driving courses in his free time and has won the Robot Open Autonomous Racing (ROAR) internationla competition hosted at UC Berkeley. Peter hopes to continue spreading joy to everyone.
